Our story
Helotica opened in 1998 as a guest house with twelve rooms, a kitchen garden and a pool that was mostly for show.
The pool came first when the money allowed it: a proper 25-metre one, long enough to swim lengths. Then the old barn became the apartments, and the attic, used for storage for years, became the six suites guests now ask for by name. Today there are thirty-eight rooms and suites, two pools and a roof terrace, and the kitchen garden still supplies the breakfast herbs.
What has not changed is the size of the team behind the desk. We have kept it small on purpose, so the person who checks you in is usually the one who books your dinner and waves you off.
